Introduction
FitMetrics is a one-person project. I don't have a data team or a legal department — I just built tools I wanted to exist and made them free. This policy explains what I collect when you visit quickbmi.in, how I use it, and what I genuinely don't touch.
Information We Collect
Calculator inputs
Every calculation happens entirely in your browser. Weight, height, age, measurements — none of it ever leaves your device. It's not sent to any server, not stored anywhere, and I have no access to it. It disappears the moment you close the tab.
Automatically collected information
Like most websites, basic technical information is collected automatically — anonymised IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and referring URL. This goes through Google Analytics and is used only to understand how people use the site so I can improve it. None of it personally identifies you.
Cookies
We use cookies for three purposes:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — understand traffic patterns. Do not personally identify you.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense, if active) — serve relevant advertisements based on browsing behaviour.
- Preference cookies — may store basic display preferences.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.
How I Use Your Information
The anonymised analytics data is used to understand which calculators people use most, where traffic comes from, and how to improve the site. That's it. I don't sell data, rent it, or share it with anyone except the third-party services listed below (Google Analytics and AdSense) which are standard across most websites.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense
We may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to personalise ads based on your browsing history. Manage your preferences at myaccount.google.com or opt out at google.com/settings/ads.
Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies before sharing personal information.
Children's Privacy
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and I don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has submitted personal information through the contact form, let me know and I'll delete it.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, use our contact form.
Data Retention
Calculator inputs are never stored — there's nothing to retain. Anonymised analytics data is held by Google Analytics for 14 months. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry, then deleted.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
